Cats are very important to me and members of my family. To us they are some of the best friends and closest companions you can find. This page is dedicated to the memory of those that have died. Though basically dedicated to cats, you may find a dog here from time to time. They can also be close companions.

In loving memory of Buttercup

My "sister", my familiar, my friend
We have walked this path together for 11 years
Now Fate says we must part.
May Bazel show favour on you in the afterlife.
You will be greatly missed here.
Proceded in death by your companions,
the poodles Candy & Snowflake,
and your neice, Cotton.

August 21, 1991 - July 13, 2002

Buttercup died from a parasite that attacked her liver. I (Katcha) was her owner.

The picture at left was Cotton taken shortly before she died. She was born in September of 1995 and died within a few weeks. The only one of a litter of three to survive that long, the mother suffocated the other two and starved her.

In loving memory of Nikayla

Though your time with us was short,
And you were taken from us much too soon,
You were still a true friend
And will be greatly missed here.
May Bazel show you kindness in the afterlife.
Proceded in death by your companion, Buttercup.

March 5, 2002 - October 21, 2002

Nikayla was purposely hit by someone who wanted to "Score 5 points for hitting the cat" while she sat at the end of her own driveway. Nekayla was my youngest brother's "baby" and best friend. He almost had a nervouse breakdown when he found her.

In loving memory of Gizmo

You will be greatly missed,
Though only here a while.
Your memory will remain
Forever here with us.
May Bazel be with you in the afterlife.
Survived by your brother Gabriel (and let it be known - cats, like humans, grieve the loss of a loved one)

May 30, 2003 - March 11, 2004

Gizmo was also hit in front of his home, though there is a chance he was crossing the road. After the other two kittens of the litter and the mother disappeared, Gizmo and Gabriel were the only two left and thus were very close. Until we got Gizmo buried, we had to keep taking Gabriel out of his "coffin" where he would try to get his brother to wake up and play with him at first and eventually would just lay with him. You can look into his eyes and know he is mourning his brother. Why some people believe animals don't have feelings is beyond me. Every pet I have ever had has went through a grieving period when their companions died, and, like you so often hear about old married couples, many have given up and died as well shortly there after.

In loving memory of Gabriel (Gabe)

You will be greatly missed,
Though only here a while.
Your memory will remain
Forever here with us.
May Bazel be with you in the afterlife.
Survived by your companion Kessa

May 30, 2003 - October 2005

Gabriel, like so many others, was also hit in front of his home. Why people insist on speeding and gunning down cats is beyond me. When the neighbors dogs run out into the road, everyone stops and honks. Can't hit a dog, but a cat is a different story. They don't even try to stop. Sorry, but it just really upsets me. Gabe was the runt of the litter and I remember having to bottle feed him. My mom didn't think he was going to make it, but he outlived all the rest.
Gabe was my youngest brother's "baby" and best friend (Nekayla's replacement, so to speak). He was very upset when he found him, though he took it a lot better than he did Nekayla's death.

In loving memory of Kitty

Precious baby, little one,
Your time was very short
And you will be greatly missed
But we will always remember you
And the courage and strength you showed - even for a cat
May your afterlife be rich in blessings
And may Bazel show you favor

April 2006 - June 3, 2006

Kitty was a neighborhood stray that was hit by a car and left for dead. It broke her back and left her paralized from mid-back down. She apparently had internal injuries as well, but it happened on the weekend and the vet wouldn't be in until Monday. She lived 2 days after the accident. She didn't seem to suffer.

In loving memory of Popcorn

You will be greatly missed,
A true friend to the end.
Your memory will remain
Forever here with us.
May your afterlife be rich in blessings
And may Bazel show you favor

2005 - June 14, 2006

Popcorn was one of our neighbor's cats and my daughter's favorite. Our neighbor would even call her "Desire''s outside cat". She used to like to sleep in a flower pot outside our door. She was hit by a car on the road in front of our house. Another one of those jerks who don't know how to drive 15 mph. She leaves behind four tiny kittens.

In loving memory of Furby

You will be greatly missed,
A sweet little baby.
Your memory will remain
Forever here with us.
May your afterlife be rich in blessings
And may Bazel show you favor

2006 - November 18, 2006

Furby was one of Popcorns kittens. She managed to stay clear of all the neighborhood speeders, but couldn't manage to get away from a gang of three neighborhood dogs that should have been chained up. Three large dogs against one little kitten, not much of a fair fight.

In loving memory of Sabastian

2009 - 2009

Sabastian was a stray kitten, found in the neighbors shed and given to my mom. He was only a couple months old when he died from unknown causes.

Squeaker, Sissy, Yappers, and Sabastian

In loving memory of Squeaker, Sissy, Yappers, and Sabastian

My precious little angels,
So sweet and inoccent.
Your memory will remain
Forever here with us.
May your afterlife be rich in blessings
And may Bazel show you favor

September 1, 2009 - October 4, 2009

This little quartet was Ryo's kittens. She decided to have them on our front porch in front of the door during a pouring rain, so we brought them inside. Squeaker and Sissy were the twin girls and Yappers and Sabastian were the brothers. All were doing really well and were ready to go to their new home at my mother's house when tragedy hit. I'm still not sure what happened to the kittens. They were in their little tub in the bathroom, the door shut so the older cats couldn't hurt them while I was gone. When I left to go to the laundromat, the kittens were in their tub meowing and jumping and playing. When I returned 3 hours later, the girls were all but paralyzed. They couldn't eat and could barely move. The boys quickly followed in their condition. One by one the kittens spazzed, stopped breathing, and died.

I'd like to also mention Brianna, Titania, and Moonshine here. We don't know what happened to them. Brianna had a litter of 4 kittens - Moonshine, Gabriel, Gizmo, and Titania - and when they were barely 4 weeks old she vanished without a trace. We took care of her kittens, hoping she would return, but never did. Then 4 months later, Titania vanished without a trace. She was there one day and gone the next morning. Moonshine was like Titania. If they have passed on, I pray Bazel shows them kindness if the afterlife and bid them a fond farewell. If they are alive, may they find their ways home.

Another honorable mention to ChocoBell, Mario, and Giovani. Another similar story. ChocoBell had a litter of 3 kittens - Mario, Giovani, and Count Ludwig Von Columbo (Columbo for short). ChocoBell became very sick before she vanished and it is believed she went off somewhere to die. Mario and Giovani were around and then disappeared earlier this year.

I have been putting together a new site - In My Life. Right now it's a collection of memorials to various people, but I will be adding more to it later. If you'd like to check it out, just use the link above.
